Dulcamara – the milky, floral-scented tea tastes bittersweet, warming you from within and caressing your skin like silk. The fire crackles in the fireplace, and outside the window, the leaves are already falling, rustling like the pages of your leather-bound book. The small tower room is filled with the slightly smoky scent of the fire and the sweetness of the tea. Nestled on warm pillows, you drift off into stories of the past.

The trunk of the fallen larch has lain on the white limestone cliffs for a hundred years, exposed to the eternal cycle of sun and frost. The bark has long since fallen away, and the wood gleams silver – you can almost see your reflection in it. And through the warmth rises a fragrance, fresh and warm, sweet and tart at the same time. Lignum – the wood will still shine and smell wonderful a hundred years from now.

Plants accumulate precious fragrances in various parts of their bodies—in blossoms, leaves, seeds, fruit peels, resins, bark, wood, or even in rhizomes and roots. Extracts and essential oils, composed of many, sometimes hundreds, of different fragrance molecules, are obtained from these plant parts through elaborate processes. This allows them to surpass any synthetic fragrance in depth and complexity.
